Vision Improvement with laser eye surgery can be life changing

Dr Trinh has had dedicated training in refractive and cornea surgery to be able to bring to you the latest in vision correction techniques. She utilises an all-laser approach, meaning that the corneal flap is created with a state-of-the-art femtosecond laser, which is significantly safer than the mechanical blade approach. She also uses highly advanced excimer lasers to treat not only your prescription but other aberrations of vision to provide superior day vision quality. Wavefront guided and topography guided treatments are our standard.

What is Laser Eye Surgery?

Laser eye surgery is used to reshape the cornea, the eye’s outermost lens, which is responsible for focusing light appropriately. Custom laser eye surgery can correct almost any refractive vision condition including near sightedness (myopia), far sightedness (hyperopia) and astigmatism (football shaped cornea).

By choosing LASERSIGHT at Mosman, you can be comfortable knowing that you are in the hands of a highly experienced surgeon who has access to the latest technology and cares about your eyes as much as you do. Once we have completed a thorough assessment, our commitment will be to provide the best recommendation while safeguarding your interests at all times.

Types of Laser Eye Surgery

LASIK

LASIK (laser assisted in situ keratomileusis) is the most common type of laser eye surgery performed.
It involves the use of two lasers, the first to create a small flap in the cornea and the second to reshape the cornea.

PRK

PRK (photorefractive keratectomy) is a type of laser eye surgery used for mild to moderate vision correction.
It involves removing part of the surface layer of the eye before applying the laser directly to the cornea for reshaping.

SMILE

SMILE (small incision lenticule extraction) is the latest advance in laser eye surgery, taking laser eye surgery to a whole new level.
It is minimally invasive with one laser used to cut a precise disc of tissue which is removed through a tiny laser incision.

Have you been told you’re not suitable and wondering if there are any alternatives?

Lens implant surgery corrects eye vision by replacing the eye’s existing lens, or by adding another lens to help redirect focus.

In ICL (implantable contact lens) surgery a contact lens is surgically implanted within the eye, while Refractive Lens Exchange (RLE), involves the removal and replacement of the eye’s natural lens.
